The staff at Dr. Vani’s office is very knowledgeable and they have been faithful employees for a number of years. You can rest assured that you will not see a new face each time you come to the office for treatment.
Dr. Kathleen P Vani, DDS
Dr. Vani has lived and worked in Michigan her entire life. She graduated from Fraser High School, then went on to study at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. At the University of Detroit School of Dentistry she won the Frances Vedder Crown and Bridge Award for Outstanding Excellence in Crown and Bridge Dentistry, and the Pediatric Dentistry Award for outstanding academic and clinical dental care with children. She also taught a pre-clinical prosthetic class during her last year of dental school.
After graduating, she taught dentistry at the University of Detroit Mercy for three years before moving to Shelby Township, where she has practiced dentistry ever since. She took over the practice of Dr. Donald Curtis, who was not only an outstanding dentist, but a caring and wonderful man. She has followed in Dr. Curtis’s footsteps by always keeping her patients’ best interests at heart, just as he would.
Dr. Vani has served as the Chairperson for the Macomb County Young Dentists Committee, as well as the Macomb Dental Association Council Member. She was also a voting member of the Michigan Dental Association House of Delegates, representing Macomb Dental Society to support and advance dentistry and the dental health of Michigan families. Dr. Vani is an active member of the Michigan Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Macomb Dental Society. She attends many continuing education courses every year, including courses from the prestigious UCLA School of Dentistry.
In her free time, Dr. Vani enjoys spending time with her family and traveling the world.
Dr. Ariana Matway, DDS
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Ariana Matway will join the practice in June 2025!
Dr. Matway is a graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and attended a Direct- Admit Accelerated program from Eisenhower High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degree in 3 years from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Dr. Matway has received numerous awards and scholarships in addition to membership in many dental associations during her dental education years. She enjoys the challenge of Endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) and received a scholarship from the Kinra Family Endowed Scholarship.
You may have already met her as she has assisted in our office over the years and is Dr. Vani’s oldest daughter. In Dr. Matway’s free time she enjoys running, walking, enjoying the outdoors and traveling with her friends and family.
Dental Hygienists & Assistants
Alicia
Alicia joined us in 2013 and loves working with patients. She’s married with two boys and one daughter. In her spare time she enjoys camping and kayaking and spending time in the outdoors.
Gabby
Gabby joined our practice in 2021 and is excited to be helping people achieve better dental health. Outside work, Gabby enjoys running and spending time with her husband and family.
Mallory
Mallory is one of our friendly dental assistants. She is originally from Ohio and started with our practice in 2016. She holds a CDA and an EFDA. In her spare time, Mallory enjoys spending time with family, vacationing, and going to the beach. She’s married with two daughters and a son.
Marta
Marta is originally from Poland. She started with our practice in 2019, and is bilingual in Polish and English. Outside the office, Marta loves to take beach vacations with her family. She is married with two daughters and a son.
Office Staff
Beth - Office Manager
Beth joined our practice in 2013. She loves being at the office building relationships with our patients. She has two daughters and one son and loves being with her family. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, watching movies, and photography.
Joann - Administration
Joann practiced as a dental assistant for over 25 years before moving to the front desk. She is now officially retired and an honorary employee! She has a son and a daughter and three grandchildren. Joann is a member of the Red Hats Society and loves watching the Detroit Tigers.
